The program for providing hotels of Russia, CIS Countries and the Baltic States in Global (GDS) and Alternative (ADS/IDS) Distribution Systems

Global Distribution Systems (GDS) that appeared in the ‘60s are nowadays the most important market for buying hotel services for travel operators and corporate users. The so-called “Golden Four” - Amadeus/System One, Galileo/Apollo, Sabre/Fantasia/Axess/Abacus and Worldspan provide 60 thousand hotels represented in GDSs with more than 90% of total volume of electronic bookings, coming from 600 thousand travel agencies, corporants and individuals worldwide.

Internet Distribution Systems (IDS) also known as Alternative Distribution Systems (ADS) appeared in ‘90s and got their second name being alternative to GDS.

While being on the GDS means that the hotel can be booked by a travel agent, being on the ADS/IDS means that the hotel is viewable on Internet portals and can be booked by millions of on-line visitors worldwide. Using the ADS/IDS the client gets an opportunity to select the hotel, the room type, the date, to book accommodation on-line and receive immediate confirmation by e-mail. There are thousands of such portals today: Expedia.com, Orbitz.com, HRS.com, Travelocity.com, Hotels.com, Hotelzon.com etc.

In 2011 the total volume of sales in GDS increased comparing to 2010 by 25 %.

The hotel not belonging to international hotel chains can be presented in GDS and ADS/IDS exclusively through the provider – the company having the appropriate rights and technologies.
